Join Us To Celebrate A Remarkable Advertising Professional—And A Scholarship That, In His Name, Will Help New Professionals Start Their Careers

Join us May 29 at Latitude 35 from 6 to 8pm as we announce AAF-Knoxville’s new Sam Littleton Scholarship program. The scholarship, offered to area college students in advertising-related fields of study, will provide needed assistance and will help celebrate the life and accomplishments of one of our area’s greatest advertising professionals.
A native of Lenoir City, Sam Littleton (1938-2011) distinguished himself as a broadcast professional for decades throughout the state of Tennessee. A graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, he began his broadcast career doing play-by-play for the football team, and as a disc jockey at WGNS in Murfreesboro. There he met his future wife, Sue, and they married in 1961. They moved to Memphis and Sam worked with WMC Radio and WREG-TV.
During the next 20 years, he also worked at WSM Radio, The Grand Ole Opry, and WSMV-TV. Sam moved back to Knoxville where he worked with several local media organizations, including WBIR/10 News 2, and finished his career as a semi-retired sales consultant with WVLT-TV.
Sam was extremely active in AAF-Knoxville and other professional organizations. He served on the Board of Directors for AAF-Knoxville, and in 2005 was awarded the Robert McCabe Silver Medal, the organization’s highest honor.
Sam was a true professional who, for those of us who were fortunate enough to know him, set a stellar example for our profession. This scholarship will allow AAF-Knoxville to continue sharing his legacy in the years to come.
